Start broad, then narrow
You don't need to name a flavor exactly. Pick the family that feels closest, then look at the more specific terms inside it.
Your own words count
Tasting is personal. Add a line in your own words, and use the structure choices to record acidity, body, sweetness and finish.
Flavors are hints, not ingredients
Coffee notes describe aroma and taste associations. They are not a list of what was added to the bag.
About the flavor list
The explorer has 8 families and 71 specific terms across three levels: family, group, then term. The list is BeanHub's own original taxonomy. It is inspired by everyday food and aroma vocabulary that is common in coffee tasting, and it is not a reproduction of the SCA Coffee Taster's Flavor Wheel or any other published wheel. The grouping, wording and descriptions were written for BeanHub, and no wheel artwork or colours are used.
